60-2-218 . Welcome and farewell signs -- design, erection, maintenance -- completion date -- exceptions. The department shall:

(1)design, erect, and maintain welcome and farewell signs within Montana at the nearest practical location to the border of the state where each national highway system or primary highway system enters or leaves Montana; and
(2)select locations for the signs consistent with the requirements for public safety and maximum visibility and with all applicable provisions of federal law.
