23-2-642 . Penalties.

(1)The failure to display a current registration decal on a snowmobile is a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine in an amount equal to five times the applicable registration fee payable under 61-3-321 .
(2)A person who violates any other provision of this part or a rule adopted pursuant to this part shall pay a civil penalty of not less than $15 or more than $500 for each separate violation. If the violation is willful, the person shall pay a civil penalty of not less than $50 or more than $1,000 for each separate violation.
(3)A manufacturer who certifies that a new snowmobile meets the sound level limitations imposed by this part is subject to the penalty provisions of subsection (2) if the machine so certified does not meet the appropriate sound level limitation. F
