§ 7-14-2821 — Permission To Operate Ferry Between Counties

7-14-2821 . Permission to operate ferry between counties.

(1)When authority to erect and keep a ferry over waters dividing two counties is desired, application must be made to the board of commissioners of the county situated on the left bank descending the river, creek, or slough.
(2)The board may not grant authority to erect a toll ferry until the notice of the intended application is given as required in 7-14-2822 .
(3)After notice is given, an application must be made in writing, under oath, to the board of the proper county. The applications must contain a description of the proposed ferry landings; the names of the owners, if known, of the proposed landings; and a statement that notice of the application has been served at least 10 days prior to the date of application on those la
