Text

Every officer of any municipality in this state having a population of more than two hundred thousand inhabitants, who performs duties for the state by virtue of his office, and whose salary and the expenses of his office are paid, or for the payment of which provision is made, by such municipality, directly out of its treasury, shall collect and pay over daily to the treasurer of such municipality all fees, commissions and other compensation allowed or authorized under and by virtue of any state law, for or by reason of the performance by him of any and all acts for or on account of the state, or duties imposed upon him relating in any manner to the state or its revenue or other affairs; and he shall make settlement therefor in the same manner as is or may be required of other officers of
