Text
Every sheriff shall, within fifteen days after he or she is sworn into office, give bond to the state in a sum not less than five thousand dollars nor more than fifty thousand dollars, with sureties approved by the presiding judge of the circuit court, conditioned for the faithful discharge of his duties; which bond shall be filed in the office of the clerk of the circuit court of the county.
