Text

If any railroad neglect, fail or refuse to pay the owner or his authorized agent the damage or damages agreed upon, as provided in section 537.280 , then the railroad shall be liable to the owner in double the amount of damage or damages agreed upon, to be recovered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
