If the director shall apply, either at the time of or after the filing of the petition referred to in section 375.570 , the court may, if the court deems it necessary, authorize him or a special deputy appointed for such purpose to temporarily take charge of the property of the defendant and to receive its premiums and other income until a final decree is rendered.
