Text

1.A prepaid dental plan may not be established or operated in this state, nor may membership be solicited in such a plan unless the plan is offered by a prepaid dental plan corporation licensed under sections 354.700 to 354.723 .  The provisions of sections 354.700 to 354.723 shall not apply to an insurance company, or health services corporation or health maintenance organization licensed to do business pursuant to the laws of the state of Missouri.
2.By January 1, 1988, any person or other legal entity that is operating a prepaid dental plan in this state must submit an application for a certificate of authority to the director.  Each such applicant may continue to operate until the director acts upon the application.
