§ 242.694 — Petition for annexation by minor district — service.

The board of supervisors of any minor district may in behalf of said district and the landowners therein, file a petition praying to be annexed to a major drainage district organized under the same provisions of law, provided the major and the minor district either have a common outlet, or the major district does have an outlet for the minor district or they furnish same; the petition shall be headed in the name of the minor district and addressed to the major district and shall set out in plain language the desire of the minor district to be annexed to the major district; it shall state that the boundaries, owners of lands and other property in the minor district to be as set out in the organization and records of the minor district, and praying to be annexed to the major district.  Said petition is to be filed in the office of the circuit clerk of the circuit court incorporating the major district, and the clerk shall cause a certified copy of said petition to be served upon the secretary of the major district at the office of the major district, wherever located.
