Text

1.The state highways and transportation commission shall have the authority to enter into one or more agreements with appropriate authorities within other states for the issuance of a multistate or regional permit for vehicles and equipment exceeding the legal limitations on width, length, height and weight, or which are unable to maintain minimum speed limits.  Such permits shall be issued by the chief engineer of the state department of transportation, or his counterpart in another state subject to such an agreement with the commission, for good cause shown and when the public safety or public interest so justifies.  Such permits shall be issued only for a single trip or for a definite period, not exceeding the maximum period set forth in the multistate agreement with the commission, a
