Text

1.Any person designated a jailer under the provisions of this chapter shall have the power to serve civil process and arrest warrants on any person who surrenders himself or herself to the facility under an arrest warrant or is already an inmate in the custody of the facility in or at which such jailer is employed.
2.Under the rules and regulations of the sheriff, employees designated as jailers may carry firearms when necessary for the proper discharge of their duties as jailers in this state under the provisions of this chapter.
3.Such persons authorized to act by the sheriff as jailers under the rules and regulations of the sheriff shall have the same power as granted any other law enforcement officers in this state to arrest escaped prisoners and apprehend all persons who may b
