The correctional center's medical personnel shall, when any offender claims to be unable to participate in required activities expected of the offender because of illness, examine the offender and if, in the medical personnel's opinion, the offender is unable to  participate in the required activities, the medical personnel shall immediately certify this fact according to established procedure.  Thereupon, the offender shall be relieved of the responsibility of participating in required activities.  The offender shall not be required to participate in such activities so long as the disability continues.  When the medical personnel certifies that the offender has recovered the offender shall be returned to such required activities.
