Text

The department of social services, in cooperation with the department of health and senior services, shall design and implement an ongoing public education program for those with no health insurance or inadequate health insurance.  The purpose of the program shall be to identify and inform eligible citizens of the existence, eligibility criteria, means of access, and geographic location of existing federal and state health service programs.  The program may be designed to:

(1)Offer grants to not-for-profit service agencies to provide public education activities;
(2)Disseminate brochures and other publications;
(3)Conduct informational seminars at appropriate geographic locations with a disproportionate concentration of low-income persons.
