Each school district shall prohibit, in name and practice, any zero-tolerance disciplinary policy or practice of discipline that results in an automatic disciplinary consequence against a pupil without the discretion to modify such disciplinary consequence on a case-by-case basis, such as automatic detention, suspension, or expulsion or the automatic imposition of other disciplinary measures.
