Text
1.If from any cause the assessor's books, either before or after the taxes are extended thereon, and the assessment list taken and returned by the assessor of any county to the county commission are lost or destroyed, the assessor shall immediately make another assessment of the property for the year for which the books and lists were made. The assessment shall be made and certified under the same conditions, rules and regulations, as nearly as may be under the circumstances, as provided by law for the assessment in the first instance, and the assessor and county clerk shall receive the same pay for their services that is allowed by law for making the assessment and extending the taxes in the first instance.
