Text
(a)Deer killed by a motor vehicle on a public road must be removed by the road authority, as defined by section160.02, subdivision 25, unless the driver of the motor vehicle is allowed to possess the deer under paragraph (b).
(b)The driver of a motor vehicle that has collided with and killed a deer on a public road has priority for a possession permit for the entire deer if the facts indicate that the deer was not taken illegally.
