Subdivision 1.Sound-producing devices. Motorboats 16 feet or more in overall length using the waters of this state must carry sound-producing devices as prescribed by the commissioner. The operator of a motorboat shall sound these devices only when reasonably necessary to insure safe operation. Subd. 2.Sirens.

(a)A siren may not be carried or used on a watercraft other than patrol watercraft.
(b)A siren carried or used in violation of this subdivision may be removed and seized by the sheriff. A seized siren becomes the property of the county where it was seized and may be used or disposed of as the county board determines.
