Text
The commissioner may advance funds appropriated for fish and wildlife programs to government agencies, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, federally recognized Indian tribes and bands, and private, nonprofit organizations for the purposes of securing nonstate matching funds for projects involving acquisition and improvement of fish and wildlife habitat and related research and management. The commissioner shall execute agreements for contracts with the matching parties under sections16C.03, subdivision 4, and16C.05prior to advancing any state funds. The agreement or contract shall contain provisions for return of the state's share and the matching funds within a period of time specified by the commissioner.
