Subdivision 1.Citation. Sections84.035and84.036may be cited as the "Minnesota Peatland Protection Act." Subd. 2.Findings. The legislature finds that certain Minnesota peatlands possess unique scientific, aesthetic, vegetative, hydrologic, geologic, wildlife, wilderness, and educational values and represent the various peatland ecological types in the state. The legislature finds that it is desirable and appropriate to protect and preserve these patterned peatlands as a peatland management system through establishment and designation of certain peatland core areas as scientific and natural areas. Subd. 3.Definitions. Unless language or context clearly indicates that a different meaning is intended, the following terms, for the purposes of sections84.035and84.036, have the meanings given
