Text
Subdivision 1.Covered policies. The obligations imposed by sections72A.49to72A.505apply to insurers, insurance agents, and insurance-support organizations that:
(1)collect, receive, or maintain information in connection with insurance transactions that pertains to persons who are residents of this state; or
(2)engage in insurance transactions with applicants, individuals, or policyholders who are residents of this state.
Subd. 2.Covered persons.
The rights granted by sections72A.49to72A.505extend to a person who is the subject of information collected, received, or maintained in connection with an insurance transaction and who is a resident of this state.
Subd. 3.Exceptions.
(a)Sections72A.49to72A.505do not apply to information collected from the public records of a governmental auth
