Whenever the commissioner deems it necessary in order to become informed about any matter related to the enforcement of this chapter the commissioner may examine or cause to be examined any rate service organization subject to section70A.13, subdivision 1, any insurer and any group, association or other organization referred to in section70A.16. The reasonable costs of any such examination shall be paid by the rate service organization, insurer, or group, association or other organization examined, upon presentation to it of a detailed account of such costs.
