Metropolitan State University and Minneapolis Community and Technical College, in consultation with the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training and state and local law enforcement agencies in the seven-county metropolitan area, shall provide core law enforcement courses in an accelerated time period. The schools shall grant priority admission to students who have a bona fide offer of employment from a Minnesota law enforcement agency. These courses shall be available at the beginning of the 1995-1996 academic year and are contingent on sufficient program enrollment. The board, Metropolitan State University, and Minneapolis Community and Technical College shall evaluate the accelerated law enforcement education program and report their findings to the 1997 legislature.
