If the persons who are legally entitled to receive the balance mentioned in sections514.77to514.79are not known or have removed from the state or county in which such repairing, altering, dyeing, cleaning, pressing and laundering was done, the person, firm, or corporation which held said property shall pay the balance resulting from any sale to the treasurer of the county in which said articles were held and take the treasurer's receipt therefor. Whenever such balance shall remain in the possession of the county treasurer for a period of two years unclaimed by the party legally entitled to the same, such balance shall become a part of the general funds of the county in which the articles were sold.
