Notwithstanding any contrary provisions of section352.029, the council shall make the employer contributions required pursuant to section352.04, subdivision 3, for any employee who was on authorized leave of absence from the transit operating division of the former Metropolitan Transit Commission who is employed by the labor organization which is the exclusive bargaining agent representing Metro Transit Division employees of the council and who is covered by the Minnesota State Retirement System in addition to all other employer contributions the council is required to make.
