Subdivision 1.Staff, advisors, contracts. The regional planning board may employ a planning director and necessary staff, or appoint an advisory planning commission, or both, to assist it in exercising its powers and duties. The regional planning board may hire experts and consultants and contract with other planning agencies for necessary services. Subd. 2.Regional development plan. The regional planning board may prepare and from time to time revise, amend, extend, or add to a plan or plans for the development of the region, which plan or plans collectively shall be known as the regional development plan.
