Text

Any county located outside the metropolitan area as defined in section473.121, subdivision 2, may appropriate moneys from its general fund or expend funds received from the federal government under the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 (Title 1, Public Law 92-512) to make grants to cities and towns within the county to be used to provide fire protection, including the construction and equipping of local fire departments, or for other community projects. The grants may be terminated upon expiration of the federal act.
