Subdivision 1.Place and manner of filing. Candidates for nomination to fill a vacancy at a special primary shall file their affidavits of candidacy and nominating petitions with the same officers and in the same manner and shall pay the same fees as provided by law for candidates for like offices at the state primary. Subd. 2.Time of filing. Except as provided in subdivision 3, the affidavits and petitions shall be filed no later than 14 days before the special primary. Subd. 3.Filing at regular time. If a vacancy occurs before the opening of the time for filing affidavits of candidacy for the state primary and the special primary is held on the same day as the state primary, the affidavits and petitions shall be filed during the time for filing affidavits for the state primary.
