Subdivision 1.Terms. For the purposes of sections181.60to181.62, unless a different meaning is indicated by the context, the terms defined in this section shall have the meanings given them. Subd. 2.Employer. "Employer" means any individual, partnership, association, corporation, legal representative, trustee, receiver, trustee in bankruptcy, and any common carrier by rail, motor, water, air or express company doing business in or operating within the state. Subd. 3.Employee. "Employee" means any person who may be permitted, required, or directed by any employer, as defined in subdivision 2, in consideration of direct or indirect gain or profit, to engage in any employment.
