Text

(a)If a Minnesota identification card is deemed an acceptable form of identification in Minnesota Statutes or Rules, a tribal identification card is also an acceptable form of identification. A tribal identification card is a primary document for purposes of section171.062when an applicant applies for a noncompliant license or identification card.
(b)For purposes of this section, "tribal identification card" means an unexpired identification card issued by a tribal government of a tribe recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Department of the Interior, that contains the legal name, date of birth, signature, and picture of the enrolled tribal member.
