Subdivision 1.Architectural and cost standards. The commissioner shall discuss various architectural and cost standards with experts from the public and private sector and recommend the use of appropriate design and cost standards for all capital budget requests. Subd. 2.Review of requests. The commissioner shall review agency requests for state buildings and help agencies prepare adequate plans for use in presenting their capital budget requests to the commissioner of management and budget, the governor, and the legislature. The commissioner shall provide information on how a building project is consistent with the department's long-range strategic plan for locating state agencies in the commissioner's recommendations on a request.
