Subdivision 1.Petty misdemeanors. Courts which heretofore have had jurisdiction over misdemeanors have the same jurisdiction over petty misdemeanors. Subd. 2.Limitation. The period for commencing an action against any person for a petty misdemeanor shall be the same as that for a misdemeanor.
