Subdivision 1. MS 1986 [Repealed by amendment,1988 c 496 s 18] Subd. 2.Certain unconventional vehicles; requirements to obtain certificate. If a vehicle is altered so as to become a reconstructed vehicle or restored pioneer vehicle, the owner shall apply for a certificate of title in the manner provided in section168A.04, and any existing certificate of title to the vehicle shall be surrendered for cancellation. Subd. 3.Title; scrapped, dismantled, or destroyed vehicle. A dealer who purchases a vehicle as scrap or to be dismantled or destroyed shall maintain the certificate of title on the vehicle for three years before destroying the title as prescribed by the commissioner. A certificate of title for the vehicle shall not again be issued. Subd. 4.Motorcycle with new engine.
