Text
Subdivision 1.Sales authorized.
Notwithstanding section160.08, the commissioner may sell travel and tourism-related publications and maps and travel and tourism-related merchandise and services. The commissioner may rent or sell items for the convenience of persons using safety rest areas, including local attraction tickets, and permits and licenses issued by units of government. Notwithstanding section16A.1285, the commissioner of transportation may collect a service fee for the sale of lottery tickets, local attraction tickets, and permits and licenses.
Merchandise that competes with vending machine sales authorized under section160.273is subject to the provisions of subdivision 5. Food and beverage sales are limited to those items that are sold from vending machines.
