Subdivision 1.Establishments. The commissioner shall adopt rules establishing standards for food and beverage service establishments, hotels, motels, lodging establishments, and resorts. Subd. 2.Certification of food service managers. The commissioner shall:

(1)adopt rules for certification requirements for managers of food service operations; and
(2)establish in rule, criteria for training and certification. Subd. 3.Rule exemption. Notwithstanding any rule to the contrary, no food establishment shall be required to acquire equipment or change construction solely because ownership of the food establishment has been transferred.
