Notwithstanding Minnesota Rules, part6800.2700, pharmacies may accept returns of and redispense unopened, unused drugs in board-approved unit dose packaging and medical devices from county jails and juvenile correctional facilities. In order to return unused drugs and medical devices, the county jail or juvenile correctional facility must have a correctional employee trained in the delivery and storage of medications on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the medication must be stored in a secured locked storage locker.
