Subdivision 1.Insurance. Notwithstanding other law to the contrary, the commissioner of the Department of Employment and Economic Development of the state of Minnesota may purchase insurance against loss to state-owned buildings occupied by the department, from any insurance companies licensed to do business in this state in an amount that the commissioner may from time to time determine and pay premiums for the insurance from federal funds granted for the administration of the Department of Employment and Economic Development. Subd. 2.Requisition authority. The commissioner is authorized to requisition from the administration fund any amount necessary to pay premiums for the insurance specified in subdivision 1 and money in the amount necessary is appropriated for that purpose.
