Subdivision 1. [Renumbered subd 1b] Subd. 1a.Qualifications. To be licensed as an occupational therapist, an applicant must:

(1)satisfy the education and examination requirements of subdivisions 1b and 2; or
(2)satisfy the requirements for licensure by equivalency under section148.6412or licensure by reciprocity under section148.6415as applicable based on the current status of the applicant's NBCOT certification. Subd. 1b.Education required.
(a)An applicant who has received professional education in the United States or its possessions or territories must successfully complete all academic and fieldwork requirements of an educational program for occupational therapists approved or accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
