Subdivision 1.Establishment; purpose. The commissioner of health shall develop a grant program for the purpose of remediating identified sources of lead in drinking water in schools and licensed child care settings. Subd. 2.Grants authorized. The commissioner shall award grants through a request for proposals process to schools and licensed child care settings. Priority shall be given to schools and licensed child care settings with higher levels of lead detected in water samples, evidence of lead service lines, or lead plumbing materials and school districts that serve disadvantaged communities.
