MICHIGAN UNIFORM MUNICIPAL COURT ACT (EXCERPT) Act 5 of 1956 730.512 Judges; rule making power. Sec.
12.In any city affected by the provisions of this act, the judges of the municipal court of such city shall have the right to adopt rules governing the form of all summons, writs and other process issued by such court, the time and manner of filing and serving pleadings and the forms thereof, the dismissal and adjournment of causes, the entry and setting aside of defaults and default judgments, the extension of time for pleading, the method of selecting the presiding judge and the period of time he shall act as such, and all other matters of pleading, practice and procedure not inconsistent with the provisions of this act or of the law.
