UNDERSHERIFFS, DEPUTIES, AND OTHER EMPLOYEES (EXCERPT) Act 180 of 1919 51.242 Undersheriffs and deputies in counties over 400,000; appointment; compensation. Sec.
2.In counties having a population of more than 400,000, the sheriff shall appoint an undersheriff, who shall also be the chief deputy sheriff, and such number of deputy sheriffs, and other clerks and employees as may be fixed by the board of supervisors. The annual salary of the undersheriff inclusive of his duties as chief deputy sheriff, and the number of deputies, clerks and employees, and their annual salaries, shall be fixed by resolution of the board of supervisors, to be payable monthly in lieu of all fees or other compensation.
