SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER PRIVACY ACT (EXCERPT) Act 454 of 2004 445.83 Prohibited use of social security number of employee, student, or other individual; exceptions. Sec. 3.

(1)Except as provided in subsection (2), a person shall not intentionally do any of the following with the social security number of an employee, student, or other individual:
(a)Publicly display all or more than 4 sequential digits of the social security number.
(b)Subject to subsection (3), use all or more than 4 sequential digits of the social security number as the primary account number for an individual. However, if the person is using the social security number under subdivision (c) and as the primary account number on the effective date of this act, this subdivision does not apply to that person until January
