MICHIGAN EMPLOYMENT SECURITY ACT (EXCERPT) Act 1 of 1936 (Ex. Sess.) 421.71 Effective dates of Act 535 of 1982. Sec. 71. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, the 1982 amendatory act which added this section shall take effect January 2, 1983. (2) The amendments to sections 5(3), 10, 17(c), 20, and 26 shall be effective January 2, 1983. (3) The amendments to sections 19 and 44 and section 19a shall be effective for calendar years after 1982. (4) The amendments to section 27(b) shall be effective for benefit years beginning on or after January 2, 1983. The repeal of section 68 shall be effective on January 2, 1983. Benefit rates established under section 68 shall not be recomputed or changed as a result of the amendment of section 27(b)(1). (5) The amendment to section 28(1)(a)(2) shall be effective for weeks of unemployment beginning on or after January 2, 1983. (6) The amendments to section 29(1)(a), (1)(b), (3), and (4) shall be effective for separations occurring on or after January 2, 1983. The amendment to section 29(9) shall be effective January 2, 1983. The repeal of section 69 shall be effective January 2, 1983. (7) The amendments to sections 46 and 50 shall be effective for benefit years established on or after January 2, 1983. Section 46a shall be effective for benefit years established on or after January 2, 1983.
