MICHIGAN EMPLOYMENT SECURITY ACT (EXCERPT) Act 1 of 1936 (Ex. Sess.) 421.13l Indian tribe or tribal unit as employer; requirements. Sec. 13l.

(1)An Indian tribe or tribal unit liable as an employer under section 41 shall pay reimbursements in lieu of contributions under the same terms and conditions as all other reimbursing employers liable under section 41, unless the Indian tribe or tribal unit elects to pay contributions.
(2)An Indian tribe or tribal unit that elects to make contributions shall file with the unemployment agency a written request for that election before January 1 of the calendar year in which the election will be effective or within 30 days of the effective date of the amendatory act that added this section.
