MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY (EXCERPT) Act 269 of 1909 390.108 State board of agriculture; courses of instruction; degrees and certificates. Sec.

8.The board shall have power to establish and regulate the courses of instruction and prescribe, with the advice of the faculty, the books to be used in the institution; and to confer such degrees and grant such diplomas and certificates as are usually conferred and granted by other institutions for similar attainments.
