THE PUPIL TRANSPORTATION ACT (EXCERPT) Act 187 of 1990 257.1809 Pupil transportation; regulation; routes; vehicles and equipment; rules. Sec.

9.The state board of education shall regulate pupil transportation. The state board or its authorized representative may review, confirm, set aside, or amend the action, order, or decision of a school with reference to the routes over which pupils shall be transported, and the suitability and number of the vehicles and equipment for the transportation of the pupils. The superintendent of public instruction shall promulgate rules as necessary to implement this act except that the department of state police, in cooperation with the superintendent of public instruction, may promulgate rules related to vehicle and equipment standards.
