MOTOR VEHICLE SERVICE AND REPAIR ACT (EXCERPT) Act 300 of 1974 257.1316 Change of ownership or name and address of facility; notice; owner as corporation; "change of ownership" defined. Sec. 16.

(1)If there is a change of ownership of a motor vehicle repair facility, a new registration and payment of a new registration fee is required and the facility shall not operate until the facility's registration application is approved by the administrator and the fee is paid. (2) If the owner of a motor vehicle repair facility is a corporation, and 25% or more of the stock of the corporation is sold or transferred, the owner shall notify the administrator of that change not later than 30 days after the sale or transfer. (3) As used in this section, "change of ownership" means a sale of all or part of a facility to a new owner, including a sale or transfer of a partnership interest in the owner of a facility if the owner is a partnership. Change of ownership does not include the sale or transfer of stock in the owner of a facility if the owner is a corporation.
