BENEFITS UNDER FEDERAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ACT (EXCERPT) Act 213 of 1967 247.841 Governor's cooperation to obtain benefits granted in federal highway safety act; acceptance and use of federal funds. Sec.
1.The governor shall have the responsibility but not the obligation to assure the full benefits available to this state under the federal highway safety act of 1966, and in so doing, cooperate with federal and other state agencies to effectuate the purposes of that act. The governor shall be responsible for the highway safety programs of this state: Provided, That the acceptance and use of federal funds commits no state funds and places no obligation upon the legislature to continue the purposes for which the funds are made available.
