COLLECTION DEPARTMENT (EXCERPT) Act 375 of 1927 14.134 Action by attorney general; settlement and compromise of claims and accounts. Sec.
4.For the purpose of carrying out this act, the attorney general may bring actions and the collection department may settle and compromise claims and accounts and receive and issue receipts for collections and payments subject to the supervisory control of the state administrative board. A claim or account in the amount of more than $750.00 shall not be compromised or settled at a greater discount than 15%, without the approval of the state administrative board.
