THE HOME RULE CITY ACT (EXCERPT) Act 279 of 1909 117.8 Incorporation, consolidation, or alteration of boundaries; petition; filing; resolution; adoption. Sec. 8.

(1)Subject to subsections (2) and (3), a petition filed under section 6 shall be addressed to the county board of commissioners of the county in which the territory to be affected by the proposed incorporation, consolidation, or change of boundaries is located, and shall be filed with the clerk of the county board of commissioners not less than 30 days before the convening of the board in regular session, or in any special session called for the purpose of considering the petition.
