§ 34-B §3802 — Commissioner's powers

The commissioner may:

1.Rules. Adopt such rules, not inconsistent with this subchapter, as the commissioner may find to be reasonably necessary for proper and efficient hospitalization of the mentally ill;

2.Investigation. Investigate, by personal visit, complaints made by any patient or by any person on behalf of a patient;

3.Visitation. Visit each psychiatric hospital or residential care facility regularly to review the commitment procedures of all new patients admitted between visits and visit other hospitals as necessary to review protocols and procedures related to certification of patients under section 3863;

4.Reports. Require reports from the chief administrative officer of any hospital or residential care facility relating to the admission, examination, diagnosis, release or d

The commissioner may:
